Frederico Rodrigues de Paula Santos, commonly known as Fred, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Manchester United and the Brazil national team. He began his career with Brazilian club Internacional before moving to Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine in 2013.
He spent five seasons with the club, winning numerous domestic honours and playing in the Champions League.
In 2018, he signed with Manchester United. He has also represented the Brazilian national team since 2014 and has been a part of the teams that have competed in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, the 2015 Copa America and the 2019 Copa America.

In the 2019 Copa America, Fred played an important role in helping Brazil win the tournament for the first time in 12 years. With his strong passing ability and solid defensive skills, he has established himself as a key player for the national team.
