Keylor Navas Biography
Keylor Navas is a Costa Rican professional soccer player who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Paris Saint-Germain and the Costa Rica national team. He was born on December 15, 1986 in San Isidro de El General, Costa Rica.
Navas began his professional career with Saprissa in Costa Rica before moving to Albacete in Spain in 2010. He then joined Levante UD in 2011, where he established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in La Liga.
In 2014, he transferred to Real Madrid for a reported fee of €10 million. While at Madrid, Navas won three Champions League titles and one La Liga title. He also played for the Costa Rica national team in multiple CONCACAF Gold Cups, Copa America and World Cup.
In 2019, he signed for Paris Saint-Germain and he played an important role in the French team, winning the Ligue 1 , the French cup and the French Super Cup in his first season. He continues to play for PSG in the current season.
Keylor Navas International Career
Keylor Navas has had a successful international career with the Costa Rica national team. He made his debut for the national team in 2008 and has since represented Costa Rica in multiple major tournaments, including the CONCACAF Gold Cup, the Copa America, and the FIFA World Cup.
Navas helped Costa Rica reach the quarter-finals of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, where they were defeated by the Netherlands on penalties. He was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper and was included in the tournament’s All-Star Team.
He also helped Costa Rica to win the Copa Centroamericana in 2014 and the CONCACAF Gold Cup in 2017. He also represented his country in the World Cup of 2018 and the Copa America of 2021.
Navas is widely considered to be one of the best goalkeepers in CONCACAF and one of the best Costa Rican players of all time. He also holds the record for most clean sheets in the CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers.
