Manchester City’s Julian Alvarez is at the center of a transfer tug-of-war, with two top European clubs still vying for his signature.
According to sources close to the negotiations, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) remain keen on landing the 23-year-old Argentine striker, despite Manchester City’s reluctance to sell.
Alvarez, who has scored 19 goals in 54 appearances for the Citizens, has reportedly asked to leave the Etihad Stadium in search of more playing time and a new challenge.
Chelsea, who are in dire need of a striker, see Alvarez as the perfect solution to their attacking woes. The Blues are said to be preparing a lucrative offer to tempt Manchester City into selling.
Meanwhile, PSG are also in the hunt, with the French giants seeking a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who joined Real Madrid earlier this summer.
Arsenal and Barcelona have also been linked to Alvarez, but their interest is believed to have cooled in recent weeks.
Manchester City, however, are determined to keep hold of their prized asset, and have already rejected several offers from interested parties.
