Crystal Palace Football Club is a professional football club based in Selhurst, London, England. The club was founded in 1905 and originally played at the Crystal Palace Exhibition building in the Crystal Palace Park, before moving to their current home ground, Selhurst Park, in 1924.

In the early years, the club struggled financially and were forced to sell their best players. However, they managed to establish themselves as a solid Second Division team in the 1930s.

In the 1969-70 season, the club achieved promotion to the First Division for the first time, under the management of Malcolm Allison.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the club had a number of ups and downs, being relegated and promoted several times.

In the late 1980s, the club was acquired by businessman Ron Noades, and under his ownership, the club achieved promotion to the Premier League for the first time in its history in the 1992-93 season.

In the Premier League era, the club had its best period of success under the management of Alan Pardew, Steve Bruce and Roy Hodgson, finishing in the top half of the table and reaching the final of the FA Cup in 2016.

The club has been relegated to the championship twice in recent years, but in 2021-22 season the club has managed to secure promotion back to the premier league via play-offs.
