Haaland is yet to start his new team but the striker’s fans have given a Ƅoost after learning his release clause will be reduced to £150½ in 2025.
The deal with Man City is meant to be no different. Haaland also hilariously answered questions from fans about his Instagram Story before he released , Spanish publication Marca haʋe, detailing how the second of two release clauses, the first £172m triggered in 2024, £12m from 2025 lowers and opens the door for potential applicants.
Haaland arrives as one of the Premier League’s summer signings and although this reported secondary release clause does not come into effect until 2025, it will keep suitors’ eyes wide open for his situation at Manchester.
Marca report that Haaland, who was represented by late agent Mino Raiola, has got used to having release clauses in his deals.
There was a release clause in his contract to join Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg and City negotiated an additional release clause for his move to England from Germany. Haaland arrives in England as one of the most sought-after strikers in world football.
He took his game to the next level in Dortmund and ended his career there, scoring 83 goals in 87 games.
Haaland said when the deal was announced. “I’ve always watched City and have loved it for the past few seasons.
“Their style of play is amazing, it’s exciting and they create a lot of chances, which is perfect for a player like me. “There are so many world class players on this team and Pep is one of the best coaches ever so I think I’m in the right place to fill my role.
“I want to score goals, win trophies and improve as a footballer and I’m confident I can do that here. ‘This is a big problem for me and I can’t wait to start preseason.’
