Cristiano Ronaldo has a statue in his hometown of Funchal, Madeira, Portugal.
The statue was dedicated on December 21, 2014 and stands in front of the Museu CR7, a museum dedicated to the soccer superstar. The statue is made of bronze and is 3.4 meters high including the base.
Shows Ronaldo in his signature scoring pose with his right foot resting on a soccer ball and his left foot stretched out behind him.
The statue was created by artist Ricardo Velosa and took about three years to complete.
The statue has become a popular tourist attraction, visited by fans from around the world to take photos and pay tribute to Ronaldo’s achievements.

It came as no surprise that Ronaldo bothered to travel home, where he was photographed hanging from the statue with friends and family.
The life-size replica of the Madrid maestro shows him in his infamous free-kick pose, and huge crowds gathered to watch the opening on Sunday.
The ex-Manchester United player attended the presentation following Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over San Lorenzo in the FIFA Club World Cup final on Saturday.
There is and always will be debate as to whether Ronaldo is the best player in the world. He obviously faces stiff competition from Lionel Messi. On Madeira, however, one man stands far above the other.

Madeiran artist Emanuel Santos spent three weeks creating the statue in Ronaldo’s name as part of the airport renaming celebrations. Santos said at the inauguration: “It’s a matter of taste, so it’s not as easy as it seems. What matters is the impact this work has created.”
